        I just heard from the sculptor, Michael Keropian, that the town of Fishkill, N.Y. is funding his monument to Sachem Daniel Nimham, the Wappinger leader who was killed in the American Revolution by British troops in today’s Van Cortlandt Park.  This happened during a skirmish or battle that goes by several names: The Stockbridge Indian Massacre or The Battle of Kingsbridge or the Battle of Cortlandt’s Woods.

        Below are some photos of the sculptor’s work:

        Below left shows today’s plaque.  Below right depicts what the monument will look like when completed.

          This is a beautiful work of Art & History…I hope there will be miniatures for sale.

            The bad news is they are about an inch tall and you have to paint them yourself.  You can get the Queen’s Rangers cavalry, the Hessian Jaegers and make yourself a diorama!
