I have recently learned that my uncle, Richard J. McAnany, was the first commander of the American Legion Post #1525, Riverdale, NY, per his NY Times death notice, April 16, 1964, as well as the History section of the Post’s website. My maternal grandmother’s family, the Devanys, were proud residents of Riverdale.  My grandmother’s sister, Mary, was married to Richard McAnany.

I am most interested in learning more about the proposed Veteran’s Monument, as well as any other activities of Post #1525.  If someone can share with me how to make contact directly with the Post, I would be most appreciative.
