Great research! I looked at some Sanborn maps from the turn of the 20th century, but didn’t discover any parcels with that family name (or a close variation). To be fair, they didn’t usually show owners’ names on smaller plots, and the photo seems to be a bit later, in any case.
One odd thought: there used to be many large Victorian houses along the Harlem River, before many of the 20th century apartments were built. So perhaps this was not quite in Riverdale? The area around the old NYU campus still has some remnants of that era, as does High Bridge. Pure speculation!
I wonder if Vincent may have been related to Francis McCaffrey (1917-1989). Among other responsibilities, Francis evidently served as the Commissioner of Records for the Bronx Surrogate’s Court “until” 1961.
